We the people

I have been thinking recently- what are we afraid of? Some nut jobs around the world are afraid that their God might come down from the skies and punish them for having a wank, but reward them for hating their gay brothers. Others, that the aliens will kidnap them and perform some nasty experiments to their testicles. There still are some few that fear the black cat that just crossed their path. But most of us, the majority, are really afraid of Mark Zuckerber waking up one day and deciding to make  personal view count on each profile in facebook. What are we going to do then? We will all know who has looked at our profile and how many time exactly, also other people will know when we have stalked them. Imagine you see that some guy from Sudan has been looking at your profile more than 100 times. What would you think? I would be freaking out, changing my adress and buying a new personality. Or even worse- all of a sudden we develop telekinesis and we become able to read everyone's minds and vice versa. How afraid are we going to be if the people around us knew what we think about them, or worse- knew our little secrets. Anyway, when you ask someone what is their biggest fear they will say deep sea filled with sharks, sudden attack by mutated 10 feet tall spiders or just dying; or something in those lines. No one will ever say- I am afraid that North and South Korea might start nuclear bombing each other and then Russia and USA might bomb them both and all that bombing ending with a nice big hole in the ozone layer. I have never heard a person saying 'I am afraid of what is going to happened when the petrol runs out and we have to start everything all over again'; 'I am afraid that we might not be able to take the next solar eruption, because we have thinned out the Earth' athmosphere'; 'I am afraid that someone will just burst into my class room and shoot me in the head' . No No. No. No one ever says that. 'Oh my god, can you imagine that- if HE/SHE found out how often I was looking at his/her facebook profile, I would be terrified.'.

My biggest fear is zombie apocalypse. Not the slow zombies like Dawn of the Dead or The Walking Dead. But the fast creepy ones. the World War Z type. What are you afraid of?

This is the world that we live in

This post is going to touch only one thing that I have been thinking about recently. Weapons of mass destruction. One would think that after more than 200,000 years of experience ( that is when the modern humans era begin) we would know what is good for us and good for the home that we inhibit. Weapons of mass destruction- I am not going to get into the moral aspect of a nation having them, but the information that not many of us know, for the pure reason that most of us are not interested. Which countries have these weapons that can kill millions of people, even weapons that have the capability of destroying the world itself. All in all the creation of weapons (crossbows, guns, atomic bombs) was an excuse for one to protect himself from others. Some people keep weapons in their houses to protect themselves from intruders who mean them harm, some cases they use them for hunting. I can understand (even though I am 100% against weapons being used by the general public) why people would want a gun in their house- feeds their illusion of safety. So you feel safe, someone with a knife comes into your house- that is OK you have a gun; even someone with a shotgun or M16 who breaks into your house, there is still a chance to protect your self.
Now how about your city gets bombed by another country, a nuclear attack- is your little gun going to keep you safe? I don't think so.
The two USA nuclear attacks in Japan have shown the power and destructive force of a bomb can be. How can you be safe in your house when the only thing a country needs to do to destroy your home town is to press a red button, even if they are at the other end of the world. As of 2012 there are over 17,000 bombs and over 4,200 'ready to be used' ones in total. Here is a little list of which countries and how many weapons of mass destruction they have, how accurate it is I don't know.

1. USA has 2,000 active (ready to use) warheads and another 5,000 more.
2. Russia has 1,500 active (r.t.u.) and 6,000 more.
3. United Kingdom has 160 active and 60 more.
4. France has 290 active and 10 more.
5. China has 0 active and 240 waiting.
6. India has 100 in store.
7. Pakistan has 100 in store.
8. North Korea has 10 in store.

We have all heard of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, those were only two bombs. Imagine what 7,000 could do? Imagine what USA and Russia are capable of; that is 14,000 in total just for two countries. I personally would not want to be on their bad side. What does a possession like that say? 'Do not piss us off or we would bomb your ass'. So we live in fear. We live in fear that one day those countries that have those bombs might decide they don't like us anymore and just blow us to the moon. We all know that people are capable of irrational decisions; one day we might make the most irrational of them all and destroy the place that we live in. I think people often forget that we are just renting this place, we are not the owners. One day the landlord- the Earth will get tired of us and just asks us to leave. I just hate how blind and ignorant we are, thinking that live and Earth are given rights and just because we are born we deserve them. But we are just tenants and we should never forget that. Earth has been a patient and kind landlord; I definitely do not want to see the end of that patience so we better hurry up and look at ourselves and do something about it. Otherwise....

P.S. Always think about what makes a puppy sad! Destroying the planet will for sure make him sad. So stop and think about it.
